Meanwhile, Liverpool captain Virgil Van Dijk became the first Dutch player to captain a Premier League side to the Premier League title.

This is the second Premier League title for the 33-year-old after winning the first one in 2020.

Having joined Liverpool in 2018 from Southampton, another English club, Virgil Van Dijk has become one of the best players not just in England but across all the top European leagues.

Another two seasons are waiting for him as he just signed a new contract.

Virgil Van Dijk has won numerous trophies with Liverpool, including the most important Champions League trophy in 2019.
